COVID-19 PIVOT (COVOT)
At a time where a large number of people are confined to their homes, the ability to communicate with the rest of the world is a vital one. Telecommunications companies have experienced a significant increase in traffic, due in no small part to the increase in video conferencing and media streaming.
Possible COVOTS
- Prioritise the development of technology to support the increased demand. Depending on location, this could come in the form of 5G networks or fibre optics
- Remove customer data caps to allow for extra usage, and provide unmetered access to all essential websites and services
- Provide free data availability for essential workers such as health and emergency staff
