COVID-19 PIVOT (COVOT)

To compete with on demand streaming services, traditional broadcasters have been able to remain competitive by heavily investing in live TV entertainment. COVID-19 has meant that many live entertainment products have been stalled or cancelled, which has significantly impacted live sport broadcasting.

Possible COVOTS

  • Repurpose old content - Fox Footy has taken classic AFLĀ games and re-called/re-commentated the games with current day commentators
Example of a COVOT

Red Line Productions

The Australian theatre group hosted a global live-streamed reading of "Orphans" by Lyle Kessler, in which the actors performed the play from their living rooms.

Aerobics Oz Style

The iconic 80's aerobics series is getting a revival on Australian streaming service 10 play. Viewers can catch old episodes online and workout (in 80's fashion) in their living rooms.
